Week of February 21 - 27, 2010.

Slow NOTD week.

Rimmel Steel Grey. Why's it called that? It's not grey at all. Love it though. Love taupes. Oh but the brushes on these polishes suck!

Barielle Pin Up. This has a tiny bit of gold in it. Actually I only got this for the name but it makes a lovely toe color.

China Glaze Light As Air. This is so pretty. Loved it.

That was it for this week. I think I'm going to do some swatching soon.

My Nail Routine.

So I was asked to talk about my nail routine. I actually don't seem to have too many issues with my hands and I don't feel like I do too much to keep up with them but here's what I do.

About every other week I use Sally Hansen's Instant Cuticle Remover (in the blue bottle). I put it on all 10 nails, around the cuticles and then use a plastic cuticle pusher (the white stick with red tip). I don't trim or cut anything. I actually don't seem to have anything there really and I think the remover probably dissolves what little I have. So I just use that little tool to sort push and "scrape" the gunk leftover. EW!

I also use a crystal nail file about every other day to keep my length pretty much the same all the time and that way I also don't have to spend more than a minute or two doing that each time.

If I'm not painting my nails I then just slather some hand cream and CND Cuticle Eraser around the cuticles and that's it.

If I am painting my nails, I skip the CND Cuticle Eraser and hand cream step until after painting.

So first I use either Nubar Foundation Base Coat or Barielle Natural Nail Camouflage. I might need to rethink those two choices though because my nails seem to be a bit stained...but then again I do paint them a lot so a bit of staining is probably unavoidable.

After the base coat is completely dry I then apply whatever color I'm using, usually 2 coats. Then comes the fast drying top coat because who has time to wait really? Either Sally Hansen Inta Dri in the red bottle or Out The Door. Those are my faves.

So after the nails are dry I go on to the hand cream and cuticle cream. Though I tend to use mostly CND Cuticle Eraser I also have a couple of other items I rotate around. I like Lush's Lemony Flutter right now. I also just got myself Qtica's Cuticle Repair Balm and so far I really really like it.

For hand creams I really just use whatever is around. I've tried loads of them and I don't know that I have an absolute favorite one. But a few that I'd probably repurchase are Barielle Ultra Soft Hand Creme, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream, Lush Handy Gurugu, California Mango Mend, and Eucerin original moisture cream.

Another item I use a lot is of course nail polish remover. I tend to use whatever but I think I like these 3 the best. Zoya Remove +, Onyx Moisturizing Formula remover and ELF Nail Polish Remover Pads which are fantastic if you have any cuts or hangnails or anything that would sting/hurt with regular remover. You do have to scrub a little more but it's worth it to avoid pain. LOL Oh and I use felt instead of cotton with the removers.

So that's it. Hopefully it wasn't too long and boring. And mostly I hope it was helpful to someone out there.

Week of February 14 - 20, 2010.

I had a snow related accident this past weekend. I was opening up a container of salt to sprinkle on my front steps and I broke my left middle finger nail! UGH!!! Anyway I had to file down/trim my nail so I decided to just do it to all 10. :( I think my nail mourning caused me not to really want to do my nails as much this week. So there were only 3 NOTDs.

Valentine's Day was when I broke the nail and so I decided to just photograph my right hand since that one seemed better looking. LOL

Nina Ultra Pro Sweet Nothings.

Then added Konad Image Plate M41 with Konad special polish in Wine Red. Just the ring finger.

Taking photos of my right hand was too difficult for me so I gave that up and kept on with my left hand. Notice I tried to put my blog watermark on top of the ugly broken nail . LOL I think I did a good job cause I can't really even see it. HAHA!

Pop Beauty Ocean.

Added Konad Image plate M79 with China Glaze Millennium.

Last nails of this week was BB Couture Opposites Attract.

Week of February 7 - 13, 2010.

I was snowed in all week but did my nails anyway...I had a lot of time!

OPI Mad As A Hatter

Orly Crocodile Rock

Jessica (Jessana) Mischievous

Then I remembered it was Valentine's week so I decided to use "Valentine" colors.

Claire's Plum Passion

And then topped with Pure Ice Spit Fire

Maybelline Matte Red

Zoya Loredana

Then to add a little Valentine's to it I topped it with Claire's Love Struck. This type of polish is so messy and annoying to put on. Or maybe I need practice...ha.

Lush things.

Yes I love Lush. I'm addicted to several things and this is one of them.
Last Thursday I met up with my awesome friend who also loves Lush (and sushi). That's what we had...Sushi and Lush.

Here's what I got.

2 Magic Mushroom bubble bars, 2 Ex Factor bath bombs, Running to the Embassy body butter, Dark Angels facial cleanser, B-Electro shower gel...

and Viva Lush Vegas gift. The other two wrapped gifts; Snow Fairy and Christmas Party were free. YAY!

I bought Viva Lush Vegas specifically for the Play Your Cards Right massage bar but everything else in it is awesome too.

Here's what's in the Snow Fairy gift.

In the Christmas Party gift.

And here are all the samples the awesome sales girl gave me. She was so super friendly and helpful.
